Fiberous asbestos is insidiously dangerous (unlike water-soluable variety which aren’t used for heat insulation), only takes a mote to get things started 20-30yrs down the road. generally its been used on piping systems. If I recall correctly ‘Fartwinds’ had its air systems contaminated with particulates. On the bright side for Co$ worry about medical coverage?, its a built in retirement plan, Lron knew this I bet O-o, for sure ‘Mad-Dwarf’ Misscabbage does, probably gloats over his Shmirnoff’s.

I dont know about asbestos in the Freewinds. If you work with asbestos you would know that it’s not dangerous if it’s already in the walls. The danger is in working with it. Thats when it’s inhaled. The material has to be agitated so fibers break loose and are inhaled. The Freewinds did do a complete remodel recently. Maybe thats why the confusion.

In April 2008, the Freewinds was shut down after cancer-causing blue asbestos was discovered during maintenance by the Curacao Drydock Company. Blue asbestos is the most dangerous form of asbestos, and the ship is reported to be “extensively contaminated”
