Vernetta, volunteer: Treated for lung cancer
Vernetta never smoked a day in her life. During a routine follow up for breast cancer, her doctor discovered lung cancer. She worked with her doctor to treat her new cancer with surgery and chemotherapy. She credits her doctors and the nurses at the Medical Oncology Clinic at Fairview Southdale Hospital for her survival.
